Agriculture - Part 1

We started our new project with a trip to the farm on the first day it opened after Lockdown 3. Good times!

The Boy had a STEM tractor building project to complete.

And Sunbaby had a lovely farm magnet game to do.

Farm stickers

Agriculture word search book to keep on working on The Boy's spelling. He's doing well. And farm animal cutting for Sunbaby who loves using her scissors.

She put all her cuttings in her farm jar which she decorated with stickers.

Sunbaby especially loves the mother/baby aspect of animals. She ordered her stickers into families.

Agricultural processes.

Matching

The weather and farming in the UK

A farm shop for Sunbaby.

And a visit to a real one.

Making a farm

Learning about subsistence, extensive, intensive, horticulture, sustainable, arable and livestock farming.

The Boy has been investigating Fair Trade farming.

He built two basic farms for a visual aid and we worked through a comparison between a farm with the protection of Fair Trade and one without. He looked at an equal yearly labour input with unequal profit at the end. We talked about Fair Trade Premium providing for community infrastructure and Fair Trade profits providing for, and enabling farmers and their families in developing countries.

Sunbaby has been doing farm-related numbers, matching, lifecycles and letters.

A trip out with Papa to another farm.

The trip was all about Sunbaby having her first pony ride. Super cute and she loved it!

How lovely it is to be stretching our legs, post-Lockdown.

Inspired by her pony ride, Sunbaby made a footprint horse :)

And a pom-pom sheep

Exploration with kinetic sand and farm animals.

More to come!
