Easter and a Flu-filled Birthday Month

The kiddies got extra-super poorly with proper flu and were out of action for weeks. It was not fun. Our space project cut cut very short which was disappointing but unavoidable considering how poorly everybody was.

As they started to pick up we rolled into Holy Week. We did a few bits and pieces about Easter but the kiddies mostly rested and recuperated.

We made an Easter garden. One end was muddy and dark with thunder clouds and Jesus' cross at Golgotha. The other end was our happy, colourful Resurrection garden with an empty tomb and flowers by the Angel.

The children made some lovely Holy Week collages of The Last Supper, The Agony in the Garden and the Crucifixion. They learnt the names: Golgotha, Calvary, Mount of Olives, Gethsemane, The Upper Room etc.

We also had some silly time and made chocolate nests.

And made silly superhero eggs, which prompted superhero face painting.

Monkey Girl made an awesome rabbit cushion while she recovered from flu. I love it :)

The Boy celebrated his birthday after two weeks of knock-out flu. He was exhausted and we had to cancel his party and his trip to Scotland to see the koalas at Edinburgh Zoo. He missed his rugby tournament and oh, we had tears. We've rescheduled the party and the trip and they're going to be awesome :)

He got an orange nerf gun for his birthday. Happy days.

I painted and converted the understairs cupboard into a spy lab. If you can't find The Boy - he's in there, doing gadget things.

He received an awesome spy kit from his Aunty G and spent his birthday, with Papa doing important spy things.

I love you, my darling. Happy Birthday! I'm so proud to be your Mummy!
