A Mish Mash of Winter, Part 2
We read an extract of Charles Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol'. I wanted the children to hear his descriptive style and immerse themselves in his Christmas food descriptions.
We made Swedish Pepparkakor to celebrate St. Lucy's day. 13th December in the old calendar was Winter Solstice so her festival of lights was celebrated on that day.
Scandinavian cones to contain our pepparkakor.
The Boy's reading is coming along beautifully. He read about foxes: not strictly winter but a good read nonetheless.
Teaching Sunbaby how to make snowmen with cotton pads, packing material and bubbles.
Finding reindeer!
Reading and colouring his Aunty's latest book.
Independent research into Russia.
Writing our names using the Russian alphabet.
First Christmas party of the season. Christmas is here!
