Sunbaby is learning to match and to colour. She's another leftie!
Panda Girl learnt a little about red kites. We see many locally and Sunbaby can identify them too :)
The story of a tree
The Boy's writing is improving after a lot of hard work on his part. His reading and writing have come on a lot slower than his sisters but he is improving daily and I'm super proud of him for his perseverance.
Working out which pine tree grows in our garden.
Poo-hunting. Sometimes it just needs to be done, right? We think we managed to identify badger, fox, hedgehog and roe deer droppings. We found some amazing burrows and warrens during our search.

Finding out about foxes.
Last week Sunbaby spotted spores on the back of some ferns. We thought it would be good to take another look at them, but this time under a microscope. They are super cool!
We turned our focus to still water and running water. I thought the best place to start with this would be to visit a brook - the very beginning of a river. It was a perfect afternoon to wade!
The Boy made a dam
And then collected a list of brook vocabulary to write a poem - which I just love!
"Look!
A brook!
Trickling in the breeze,
Trickling over my feet.
Look!
A deer!
Lapping with a splish.
Pebbles smooth and round.
It barely makes a sound.
Dribbles and dapples and ripples and shade,
It's cold and it's calm,
And it's perfect to wade!
From source to sea
We've been enjoying Springwatch
Sunbaby has had lots to keep her busy.
I made her some story pictures and we've had a lot of fun making up stories with them.
We made a journey stick for the garden - which she used to collect all sorts of leaves and flowers.
We've had a mole in the garden.
She made Giraffe a crown
And matched her metamorphosis set.
The Boy learnt about the difference between grass, rushes and sedges...
...did a mini tadpole study and mini pipistrelle bat study...
...learnt some fun facts about riverbank animals...
...diagrammed lake layers...
... and mapped dipper distribution in England, Scotland and Wales.
Sunbaby did the cutest study of pigs I've ever seen.
And I had to make her more work to colour and match and stick because she does it all really fast!
