The Vikings and a Viking Encounter.

A new school year. A new term. A new thematic unit.

Ballet Girl is starting an American High School Diploma this year. We are waiting for her new books to arrive and she may well continue to join in many aspects of our thematic units over the forthcoming year but, after ten years, she is now moving into the world of serious study and I wish her all the love, patience, courage and diligence in her new studies. Bunea suerte mi corazon. x

In the meantime... Vikings!

Unbeknownst to the kiddies I had arranged for a viking reenactor to spend the day with us and kick-start our new year. The children were baffled and then delighted and then absolutely enthralled. What a fabulous six hours!

Sushi and Fresh Blackberry Crumble with Victorian Stilts

Our Summer Holiday is coming to an end.

We've been bug-hunting with the Forest Centre rangers.

We picked a whole bunch of local blackberries...

...and the children learnt how to make a blackberry and apple crumble.

Pooh Sticks. The annual pooh stick competition outside the dance shop where Mummy annually weeps for her financial loss during the dance gear purchase for the new term. Complicated but true.
